INSURANCE BILLING

Many clients ask if massage therapists can bill insurance. Massage therapists in Alaska have been able to bill auto accident, workers compensation, and personal injury insurance for many years but in 2015 private insurance billing entered the scope of Alaskan MT's.

LifeTouch Massage and Wellness, Ltd (which is the parent company of Valley Orthopedic Massage and Wellness) is in-network with Aetna/EBMS and the VA. We are working towards being in-network with Moda Health and have worked closely with many other private insurers available in Alaska.

LifeTouch Massage and Wellness, Ltd wants to be sure that your services have the best chances of being covered by your benefit plan. In order to do this we ask that all clients who wish to bill their insurance must have a prescription for therapy. The prescription should have a diagnosis, a frequency and duration included.

While not every insurance plan covers massage, many do. With a Doctor’s referral, massage therapy is often a covered service. Under the “Forms” section of this website is a Referral Form. You can download and print this form to take to your primary care provider or chiropractor. This extra step makes it more likely your insurance will pay for treatment.
